ROLE : FREELANCE VISUAL  DESIGNER

TIMELINE : 15 DAYS (2025)

Project Overview

This is a freelance project with Oxford University Press India, part of their bilingual dictionary series featuring cover designs inspired by traditional crafts from the state of the respective regional language.

For the Gujarati edition, the cover draws from the age-old textile craft of Ajrakh. The aim was to create something rooted and authentic—capturing the rich culture of Gujarat through a traditional visual language.

Craft Research

We researched various Gujarati crafts to see which could inspire our design.
After exploring various options, Ajrakh, Patola, and Rabari embroidery felt the most fitting.
